The Nigerian Ports Consultative Council (NPCC) heartily congratulates its Chairman, Mr. Bolaji Sunmola, on his well-deserved recognition as the recipient of the 2025 Maritime Doyen (MD) Award, conferred by the Girls Go-To-Sea Campaign Initiative through the Face of Maritime International (FOMI).

The prestigious award was presented to Mr. Sunmola in his capacity as National President of the National Association of Stevedoring Operators (NASO), during the FOMI 2025 Women Empowerment Programme and 10th Anniversary Celebration, held on Friday, 3rd October 2025, at Villa Angelia Hotel, Ikoyi, Lagos.

The event brought together leading figures from across Nigeria’s maritime and blue economy landscape to celebrate individuals and institutions whose vision, leadership, and service have made lasting impacts on the maritime profession. Mr. Sunmola’s recognition as a Maritime Doyen underscores his over three decades of exceptional leadership and strategic contribution to the growth, professionalization, and sustainability of stevedoring and port operations in Nigeria.

Under Mr. Sunmola’s dual leadership as Chairman of NPCC and President of NASO, both institutions continue to work toward a shared vision of operational efficiency, regulatory stability, and inclusive growth across Nigeria’s maritime value chain.

The NPCC once again congratulates Mr. Bolaji Sunmola on this distinguished honour, recognizing it as an acknowledgement of his tireless service, integrity, and commitment to national maritime advancement.
